our pleasure playlists

Back in the day, I used to burn CDs filled with music that I wanted to have sex to. Although I never found a partner who was into the idea as much as I was, I’ve been sure to incorporate music into my sexual experiences.

Since then, I’ve created playlists to honor my teenage self, filled with some of my favorite songs from the 90s and 2000s. Playlists full of some of our favorite slow sex, striptease, slow grind, sensual, and seductive songs. Playlists that help us feel grounded, feel good in our bodies, spark intimacy, and help us channel different personalities (role play anyone?). And I know that we are not the only ones who identify listening to music as one of our favorite ways to get in a sexy mood.

In fact, did you know that there is a chemical response in the brain when you find music pleasurable? This chemical is called dopamine, also known as the ‘cuddle hormone’, and is also produced during hugging, bonding, sex, and other pleasurable social connection exercises.

Music can contribute to a heightened sense of sexual wellbeing, physically and psychologically. It can increase your heart rate and breathing, which are both signs of arousal, so pleasure from music can help you get in the mood and move your body towards a state of sexual pleasure.

Think about your favorite ways to feel sensual, sexy, seductive, desired, and aroused. If you’re like us and created CDs, and now playlists, with different themes to set the mood, and you know that music is part of your pleasure practice, check out our pleasure playlist below.
