love notes from our community

“I engage with you through your workshops and social media. Afrosexology’s work has provided the affirming education I had been seeking. Starting with giving me the tools to improve relationships and have a paradigm shift in what sex-positivity looks like in my black body and how I interact with my black partners. I was equipped with “purity” shame-based beliefs from sex education with bias and gaps and through your work I’ve learned how to honor pleasure in my body and champion the same for all black folks, starting with those in my life. Pleasure is our birthright and that includes how I engage and communicate with myself, my future partners and what I accept from them, my friends and family. Once I understood this, it has been so fun learning skills that increase pleasure and satisfaction at Re-imagining Relationships, Ride-ology and your Masturbation workshops (so far)! Afrosexology has given me the foundational skills and confidence for me to center consent, mutual pleasure and feelings of healthiness, quality and satisfaction in my relationships!”
